Started as a doodle. Just a gesture, really. But I'd just recently watched the trailer for 300 for about the twentieth time, and well, I couldn't resist throwing a Spartan helmet on him. The next thing I knew, I was filling in dark areas. Then I decided to do a little hatching (which I'm really bad at, I know) just for practice.

The end result is this.

I wish I hadn't hatched it. And his arm could be a bit longer... but other than that, I'm really happy with it.

was kind enough to color it for me. It turned out great, you should check it out.

has posted full color AND a black and white recreations (with corrections where I went wrong). Both of which are awesome, and worth checking out.

Do you mind if I use this as a reference for a T-shirt design? I won't be using the design it's self, but merely the pose. I can credit you, if you desire, but I doubt I'll be uploading the image anyways, it's merely an idea in the processing phase, so it will likely not come to life anyhow, but I wouldn't feel right about using someone else's idea.
